Ministry Descriptions

The Altar Assistant/Server   Assists the presider at the Eucharist and other liturgical rites.

 

The Flower Ministers   Meet on Saturday mornings to arrange the flowers for weekend Masses.

 

The Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion

 

  Assists the presider and deacon with the distribution of the consecrated bread and wine at Mass.

 

The Greeter   Welcomes parishioners and visitors to the celebration of weekend Masses. 

 

The Lector   Proclaims the Word of God at the celebration of the Eucharist and other liturgies.

 

The Liturgical Environment Committee   Uses a variety of artistic medium to enhance the worship environment, and prepares the chapel and environs for seasons of the liturgical year.

 

The Liturgy Committee   Meets monthly for study and seasonal preparation of liturgical events, evaluation, and to discuss new/revised liturgical practices.

 

The Mass Coordinator   Ensures that sufficient liturgical ministers are on hand for weekend Masses and special liturgies, and helps coordinate other details of these celebrations.

 

Music Ministers   Are vocalists and instrumentalists who lead the assembly in sung prayer at weekend Masses and other liturgies throughout the liturgical year.

 

The Sacristy Minister   Takes care of the linens used during the Mass.

 

The Usher   Welcomes worshippers as they enter the Newman Center, helps them find seating, assists with the collection, and hands out bulletins as parishioners leave at the end of the weekend Masses.
